The meaning of stephen

             To detect and tell the story of my name was harder than I thought it would be. I have discovered that my name Stephen Chauncey Fry has an interesting meaning and a very fascinating past, in which I will be telling you all about later. Also I will tell you the story of Saint Stephen the first Christian martyr as it is in the bible. Thus, I am very happy to be able tell you the facts of my name to you.
             First, the name Stephen stands for the English Crown. Its ethnic origin is of the Greek class. The name Stephen is most customarily a male's name. The name alone has endured the slings and arrows of decades of popularity polls. The middle name Chauncey researched means Chancellor, which has English, origin. The word chancellor means a minister of the King. The Chancellor reviewed petitions to hear such cases. When in some cases, a party to a lawsiut asked the king to step in and provide relief by judging the case according to board pricipals of justice rather than to the strict letter of the law. Chancellor is also defined as any one of the various high British government official, especially: The chancellor of the Exchequer and the Lord Chanceller. The last name Fry means "freeborn" or "Noble, generous" it is also consederd a British last name with many variances.
             Second, the story of Saint Stephen can is told in the Acts of the Apostles 6:1 to 8:2. Saint Stephen was the first Christian Martyr (a person who is put to death or made to suffer greatly because of his religion). Stephen was one of the seven decons chosen by the apostles to take over certain pratical duties in the church in Jerusalem. These decons were all Greek-speaking Jewish Christians. Stephen was the spokesman for this group. The New Testament portrays him as an inspired figure whom speaks on behalf of God. His speech before the Jewish authorities reported in Acts 7, criticized Israel for being slow to accept any dramatic, unexpected action...
