Throughout my life I have always reached to obtain the highest standard of success. When a situation arises and a certain goal needs to be fulfilled I feel the most important role of a leader is to utilize all of your resources in a group. Each person has their own qualifications and talents, a leader needs to be able to recognize that and work with those people to accomplish what needs to get done. As the chairperson of Harvest House Core I became extremely overwhelmed with all that had to be done, but it was not long before I realized there were extraordinary people in this group willing to help. Soon after, we accomplished everything in a timely manner.
During several leadership seminars that I have attended, we were presented with a problem that needed to be solved. Many times there was more talking being done than actually solving the problem. I realized that it is not only important to plan but also to execute. Our prom committee has talked a lot about what needs to be done, I then decided to step up and say that it is time to really concentrate on our goals and get working. A leader needs to be able to acknowledge when the right time is to begin working.
In conclusion not only do you learn from being a leader, you encourage people to concentrate on what needs to be done so in the end everyone can feel proud that the goal was accomplished. In the words of Evenius, "The crowd gives the leader new strength."
