This December, during the Christmas season, many mothers and fathers and potential gift buyers will be in the market for a home entertainment system. Until recently that meant only one thing: the Sony Playstation 2. The Playstation 2 is by far the most widely bought system in the world. In fact as of January 16, 2003, Sony revealed that they had reached the fifty million mark. Compare that to the twenty-seven million Xboxes and the 16 million Nintendo Gamecubes sold and you get the idea that Playstation 2 is the supreme system. It isn't. The Xbox is a better overall system than the Playstation 2.
             The Playstation 2 is produced by Sony and was first released in Japan, where most games are created. In fact, four out of five of the top game producers are based in Japan. Once Playstation 2 was released in America the attraction was undeniable. People waited in lines for upwards of eight hours just to get a Playstation 2. Some people even spent the night in line in some of the bigger metropolitan areas.
             When you have a group of followers dedicated enough to sleep in line, it's hard to convince them that you have something better for them, but I do. Recently, Microsoft who had previously been known for their computer software and other computer related equipment, released their first home console: the Xbox. A lot of people were skeptical about software developers putting out a system. Also, Microsoft is an American company, and video games were usually created in Japan. Nevertheless, against all odds, Microsoft got it right on the first try. They released a system with excellent graphics processing power, an internal hard drive, and plenty of great launch games.
             Many Playstation advocates will argue that the Xbox is too big. The Xbox is quite large. I have one and it is pretty cumbersome when I have to move it. I estimate the weight at about six pounds. The Playstation weighs about three pounds. That is a pretty significant...
