I was sitting down comfortably in my sofa looking at the picture album and I came across a picture of my old friends from college in the Philippines. In the picture were Ligaya the shorty, Lani the bug eyed, Maricar the beauty queen, Kathleen the Einstein, and me. As I was looking at the picture, I became curious and started to wonder how my old friends have become. Years fade away like a summer breeze, but I remember the chats we used to have like it was only yesterday. We used to talk about our ambitions, our dreams and of course, our ideal husbands to be. As I was about to put away the photo album, the phone rang, and a voice sounds so familiar was at the other end. It was my old friend Kathleen calling from Hawaii. I was surprised to learn that she's now living in Hawaii. I could sense the excitement in her voice, like a volcano about to erupt to spew out not disastrous lava but a flow of good news. She greeted me with such happiness and her tongue seems endless, dying to tell me everything that happened in her life. "I passed the Nursing Exam!" she excitingly shouted. I was speechless and a little confused for a moment for what she had just said since we both graduated with computer science degree. I learned that she shifted her career to nursing after she got married.
             Time ticked and our talk was endless. Long distance bill was mounting but we did not care. We talked for hours, reminiscing the good old days. We were whispering and giggling like little girls, talking about boys we had crushes on back in those days. I was shocked that she finally revealed that she had a crush on one of our classmates. Back in college, you would not hear Kathleen talk about men. Every time that topic comes up, she had no say and did not seem to show any interest in men at all.
