             Open with Impact: 570,000 injuries a year and 1.5 million crashes resulting in property damage can be blamed on wireless phone use according to an study at Harvard's University Center for Risk Analysis.
             Focus: This number is only going to grow with the increasing use of cell phones. Not only have these wireless phones caused a problem on the road, but they are also becoming very annoying in public, in places such as restaurants. So, today I am here to persuade you to limit cell phone use, especially when driving and in restaurants.
             Connect with Audience: How many of you own cell phones? That's kind of what I thought...almost everyone. I'd say there are a good majority of you that also talk on those cell phones when driving.
             Preview: In persuading you to limit the amount of cell phone use, I am going to cover three main areas. One of course would be the issue of driving while on the cell phone. Another will be about the effects of cell phones in restaurants, and the final main idea will cover some of the laws that are currently in place, and a few that should be implemented.
             Driving: A new study out of the University of North Carolina shows that people on cell phones are more likely to cause rear-end collisions, than those who are not speaking on them. They found a lot of crashes occured when people were just talking on the phone, but they also found that some occured when reaching for their phone, dialing their phone, or answering their phone. The average time spent on the phone while driving according to this survey was 14 1/2 minutes. That is amazing. What is so important that people need to talk that long on the phone while driving.
