Bama Pie

Bama Pie began in 1927 when Henry C. Marshall began selling his wife's, Cornelia A. Marshall (Bama), pies on the streets going door to door. Later, "Bama," and her son, Paul, founded Bama Pie, Limited in 1937. Since that time, Bama Pie has grown from selling pies at a corner drugstore to supplying some of the biggest companies worldwide with a variety of fresh, frozen bakery products. Bama Pie is a family owned company now run by the third generation. Bama is comprised of six companies that all work together. The CEO is Paula Marshall-Chapman, who has been awarded for many nominations such as Quality Fanatic of the year in 1989 and one of the top most admired CEO's. She is a very strong believer and follower of the company's main principle, consistent quality, with their values statement reinforcing "quality as a way of life". Bama also focuses on people relationships, which they feel are key to success, and is shown in their mission, people helping people being successful. For Bama it is essential to help people become more successful in everything they do. Not only is Bama concerned with their employees, but they also partner with the community, such as with the United Way and being dedicated to help the community grow.
McDonald's has been Bama's top major company for many years now. They have been the "single-source supplier of pies to McDonald's U.S. operations" and now all McDonald's pies Worldwide, by "providing top-quality and never missing an order". Bama currently sells more little pies (3-ounce pies) than anyone in the U.S. "McDonald's was unusual in that Bama had been the company's principal supplier for more than 20 years and never had a contract." Instead of selling directly to McDonald's, "sales were made to independently owned distribution centers that supplied the McDonald's restaurants".
