Political scandals have been problems many times. Some scandals in the past are Richard Nixon's Water gate Scandal; Bill Clinton's various scandals, the Iran-Contra scandal, and others. The Teapot Dome scandal, under President Warren Harding, was a scandal of illegally leasing oil from the oil reserves in Wyoming. Then in 1920 he was chosen as a candidate for President. He gained 60 percent of the popular vote and defeated James Cox.
