One of the worlds most misunderstood religions is Islam. Although one of the newest religions more misconceptions have been spread about this religion then almost any other. Misconceptions about the mistreatment of woman and that all Muslims are terrorists have given this religion a difficult time in the western world. Many people in the western world do not realized the Muslims follow the same god that Christians do and believe in some of the same prophets such as Jesus. In fact Muslims revere Jesus and await his second coming. Muslims consider Jesus one of God's greatest messengers. Although relatively new, the Islamic faith has grown to include 20% of the world's population with over 6 million Muslims in the United States alone. It has been estimated that because of the rapid growth of Islam that within 10 years Islam could become the second largest religious group behind Christianity. Because Islam has such a large following it is imperative that the Western world understand this religion, in order to live in peace with the real followers of the Islamic faith and to weed out the fundamentalist and misguided followers that would harm Islam. Although the Islamic faith does make provision for war, these provide mostly for the defense of one self or family. Being that he was illiterate, Muhammad recited these messages from memory and had them written onto bark, shoulder blades of sheep and just about anything that could hold a sentence or two of the words of Allah. Just as men do woman are taught from birth that they have a place in the Muslim home and a responsibility to uphold the Islamic faith. Islam condemns the barbaric killing of anyone. Shi'ites divorce law is a bit stricter than the Sunnis', and Shi'ites inheritance law allows women to inherit more than Sunni law does. If the Qur'an is to be taken literally then it is against Islamic law to be a terrorist and take innocent life. If taken literally then, it is certain Allah would not condone the use of suicide bombers or weapons of mass destruction. During these trips he was bothered by dreams and visions.
