Robots and Automated Systems

An automated system is a system where the system can automatically adjust their task to the surrounding or according to data received from the input device. The system does not need human to input control it as it can correct or control its self according to the input device. The system can turn it self off or on, turn left or right, go up or down, or to accept or not to accept. Example of an automated system is an automatic electric kettle. It can switch it self off when the thermostat sends a signal that the water is already at 100°C. This shows that an automated system does not need a human to control it.
Example of the automatic electric kettle, it has the input of a thermostat or timer. Its output is the on/off switch. The automatic electric kettle gets the information from the thermostat that the water is already hot or still cold Some kettles receives input from the timer that shows that it is time to off the kettle. The kettle then decides when the water is already or not hot yet and outputs the signal to keep the kettle on or off it.
A robotic system can defined as "machine that is able to extract information from its environment and use knowledge about its world to move safely in a meaningful and purposeful manner". A robot is "A reprogrammable, multifunctional manipulator designed to move material, parts, tools, or specialized devices through various programmed motions for the performance of a variety of tasks". A robotic system is a system where there is an input and output. It can also "decode command, perform physical navigation action and respond to positioning request". The robotic system receives the information from the input and corrects or co-ordinate it self accordingly. The robotic soccer system can make decision according to the input it receives. The robotic soccer system interprets the video from the vision camera and changes it to coordinates to the robots and the ball on the playing surface. The main c...
