When I read the information for the writing assignment I started getting really nervous. I started thinking to myself how am I going to do this – I have been out of school for 10 years. When I started on my first assignment I could not figure out how to start. I remembered that one of my High School English Teacher's told me to just keep writing even if it didn't make sense. So that's what I did to start off. As I moved through the assignments it began to get a little easier.
             As I moved through the writing assignments it began to get a little easier. I did see improvements in my drafts but I still don't feel as confident as I should. I could not determine how to start my papers and I had problems with were my commas should be. I tried to resolve my issues by asking questions and searching different websites. My issue is not fully resolve but I am definitely working on it.
             What I have learned while drafting these assignments is that it takes time. Technical writing is intended to communicate to a specific audience for a specific purpose. However, the focus for technical-writing courses is not necessarily career as a technical writer but an introduction to the kinds of writing skills you need in practically any technically oriented professional job. No matter what sort of professional work you do, you're likely to do lots of writing and much of it technical in nature. The more you know about some basic technical-writing skills, the better job of writing you're likely to do. And that will be good for the projects you work on, for the organizations you work in, and most of all good for you and your career.
