Traits of Pepys Samuel Pepys proved to be a meticulous and comprehensive man who drafted entries into his diary to record his life. Through these records in time, it can be discovered not only what the person was like, but also portrays an image of a culture in time. Samuel's journals paint a picture of what kind of man he was; more specifically what his traits were. By reading various entries, it can be said that Samuel paid close attention to detail, was very concerned in the day's politics, and though dignified, still enjoyed the things a modern man would enjoy and partake in.
