             Your child deserves the best. That's why you agreed to send him to an Edison School, the brainchild of the Edison team-a three year research project determined to bring the best education to a school near you. Your child arrives at school at 8:00 a.m. From 8:00-8:30, your child sits in his designated classroom, or "Home Base." During this period, your child can discuss a wide array of topics with his classmates and even his teacher. The last ten minutes of class are dedicated to "Edison Live," a new show by kids for kids. Then, from 8:30 to 10:00, your child actually reads. The entire school reads. Edison students are required to read for an hour and a half everyday, with tutors on hand to assist your child with his reading material-that's right YOUR child's reading material, not the class's. All students are given material based on their reading ability, not their age level. Then, from 10:00 to 11:30, your child attends two classes ranging from Spanish Language to French Impressionist Painters; Edison specialists know how important the Arts are to today's society. At 11:00, the students get a break from all the fun and enjoy a nice quiet lunch, free of misbehaving and disrespecting, because Edison schools emphasize greatly on respect as one of their core values. After lunch, your child spends an hour doing math. Math class is boring-NOT! Your child learns math not with paper and pencils, but with games and cooperative learning, with groups and peers advising each other. From 1:00 to 1:30, your child spends his time writing-a skill needed indefinitely throughout his life. From 1:30 on, your child is instructed on science and social studies, but instead of textbooks, your child learns from meaningful investigations and other project work.
