When things are running smoothly, both Windows and Macintosh are very easy to use; however, each has features that are preferable for a specific task or needs. For example, the platform Windows has always allowed the user to access menus, taskbar and other functions through the use of keyboard, a great benefit to those individuals who cannot use a mouse. Windows adds an excellent system for customizing the look and operation of the onscreen desktop or the appearance of your desktop, including cursor size, font color, screensaver, accessibility options, style of the fonts and adaptive keyboard features. The Macintosh was first to offer some of these features, but Windows now implements them at least as well. Macintosh has always offered a more consistent method of interacting with the computer; that is commands learned for one program transfer readily to other programs. Multimedia software like the video clips, media devices, sound recordings and interactive multimedia are easier to install in the platform Macintosh. Macintosh seems to win over beginners, as they seem easier to figure out.
             In terms of general purpose and family needs, the platform Windows has a huge advantage over Macintosh. However, the most interesting developments in adaptive software and peripherals were initially designed for the Macintosh, because multimedia features, such as synthesized speech, integration of graphics and animation, and ability to change text size, were built into the Macintosh operating system. But some surveys said that Macintosh seem to win over beginners, because they seem easier to figure out.
