American History X
After watching the file, American History X I started to think about what the world has come too, we think we have changed but in reality we still haven't. It's weird to think that were still fighting about our skin color, this issue has been around for a long time now. This movie is about race hate and the will for one man to change all that. When we hear about killing, robbing, and abuse we usually hear it from the victims view. But in this movie we also hear and see the point from the other side, the "bad guys". Their family history and what happened when they were younger made them insecure of themselves and cause them to do awful things to not only themselves but other people. The Nazi youth in the movie have a manipulative leader. The kids do what he wants them to do because they really don't know what they want in their lives. I think th
They don't help anything but rather hurdle our society. I think that the direct was trying to tell us at the ends that hate breeds hate. Through his experience he sees that black are people too and they are no different than him. I guess what I am trying to say is that one who hates is also hated. We as a society have to learn to see everyone equally to our own race. But we have to remember that we are all the same and that our skin color is just on the outside we must look and see what is in the inside before we started to make choices. His hate towards black is what got him killed at the end. He is changed from his neo-Nazi class into a more tolerant person by what he sees after going through the jail system. I also believe that an entire race should be responsible for the acts of an individual. Stereotypes are commonplace in every society. While he was in jail he got the opportunity to communicate with members of other races like the black race. His own malice came around and killed him. Even thought, Derek turned his life around; there were still prices to pay and that was his brother was killed.
