             Hector was one of the most heroic warriors during the whole Trojan War. The height of his heroism happened when he smashed the gates of the Greek field fortification around the camp. The second climax of his career was when he set one of the Greek ships on fire.8 Even though his heroism and bravery bested his combat skills. He was often over confident in his abilities, this partly due to the gods protecting him from most dangers. However so often, his heroism was clouded by over confidence. His rash bravery and over-confidence often clouded his judgement.9 This happened on two occasions, both of these events were also thee height of his career. Twice he did not listen to the wise counsel from his brave friend, Polydamas, with disastrous results.10
             The first occasion was when the Trojan army was attacking the Greeks at their own gates.
