Strength, morality and justice

Through the use of music, television, and film it is demonstrated how strength relates to personal morality and social justice. Personal morality can be defined as conformity to ideals of right human conduct ("Morality" N.pag.) and social justice may be defined as fairness in society. Although they have two distinct definitions, they both have a similarity in that they both involve doing what is right. Morality and justice correlate with strength in several ways. In some instances it is necessary for a person to find the strength inside themselves to make a moral decision, which may mean going against what the rest of the crowd does. Just as well, justice asks a person to do what is fair in society, requiring strength to stand up for what one believes in and chooses to do. Through the song, movie and television show that I have selected, it is clear to see how personal morality and social justice are related to strength.
Remember The Titans is a powerful and emotional movie that grips you throughout all of its scenes. Many circumstances in the movie make it effortless to see how strength would be a central theme throughout the entire piece. The first sign of great strength in Remember the Titans is displayed by Coach Boone, a black coach, when he arrives at the high school in Virginia. This primarily white high school welcomed him as much as one would expect. Being a community in the south, Coach Boone knew he would be tackled with misunderstanding, rejection, and hardship. Yet, he faced the community and school with amazing and remarkable strength and by the end of the movie he proved that with strength, morality and social justice in mind, many things can be changed and conquered. This movie not only showed strength in characters, but also displayed great strength of the team when they realized that in a moral and justice sense, they should be unified as one.
