Thin Blue line
The shooting death of a police officer, Robert Wood is a thrilling subject all in itself. The film "The Thin Blue Line" slowly reveals a hidden community by allowing everyone involved; criminals, judges, police officers, and witnesses to talk and share their stories. Randall Adams is accused of the murder of the police officer. David Harris being the accuser of this crime. This scandalous crime takes place in a small Texas town's justice system during the year 1976. Harris testified that Adams had shot and killed Wood after their car had been pulled over on their way home from a movie. Adams claimed to know nothing of the murder, insisting that Harris had dropped him off at his home two hours before it occurred. Local authorities believed Harris, and witnesses' team up which leads to Adams' conviction and a death sentence, which was soon after
This film reveals injustice, witnesses whose motives prove peculiar, a defense attorney who leaves his profession because of his negative experience with the trial. Although the police seemed to believe him, many others didn't. Surprisingly at the same time this case examined a section of this small Texas town revealing hidden town secrets. He never seems thrown by the series of events that has occurred and describes the killing of Wood by Adams quite coldly. The two had gone to a movie where they drank beer and smoked marijuana, this concluding their relationship. As the film begins, Adams has been in jail 11 years, and Harris is serving time for an unrelated crime. When convicted of the murder through prosecution, he never seemed like a killer on death row, regardless he was the convict in this scandalous crime that takes place in a small Texas town's justice system during the year 1976. David Harris also recalls the events of the evening in detail, but creates a much different impression. Randall Adams recalls the events in detail, as though prison has given him plenty of time to think about the actions surrounding the crime. After setting a reward for anyone who had witnessed any part of David Harris or Randall Adams evening of the murder, witnesses step forward. While Adams never seems too bright or capable of deception, Harris is extremely difficult to read. He steadily and convincingly claims his own innocence, and remains preoccupied with a crime that took place 11 years earlier. Some interviews more believable than others but just the same were all provided to bring the town closer to the true convict. Along with providing evidence about the case, the witnesses told personal stories that were entertaining, odd, and sad.
