bill cosby

Mark Rodgers is trapped in a building with a crazed gunman. What goes thru his mind? 1-Clearly this man has a problem expressing him-self. 2-There should be stricter gun control laws. 3-I wish I had a gun. Every day more people die as a result of automobiles and drowning then gun related death (torr38) but every year the gun laws get stricter. Yet there are no restrictions on who can by a car. 99.8 percent of all gun owners are law-abiding citizens but they are punished because of the other .2 percent (torr49). The stricter gun laws get the more the government restricts are freedoms. The Second Amendment states, "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" Gun control is an invasion of our rights as Americans and denies us our Second Amendment rights to bear arms. Among our many freedoms, which are the freedom of speech, of the press, of religion, of assembly, and the right to bear arms. Freedom is being able to resist government and do as you wish not as you are forced and efforts to undermine the second amendment threatens the core concept of individual liberty our founding fathers struggled to perfect and protect. Helen Cothran said, "When you lose you

A man breaks into a house and he hears a shot gun blast he is going to leave before he gets to you and he is most likely to not come back. This story could have gone many ways John and his brother could have been hurt or even killed. In 2002 the mayor of the Tennessee town Kennesaw did a survey and found that five out of six homes had a gun. People don't see or hear about the people who use guns safely and responsibly and they never see the people whose lives were saved by defensive gun use Gun control is an invasion of are rights as Americans and there for denies us are rights to bear arms . Yet there is no effect on crime rates. The government is infringing on are Second Amendment rights by not allowing us to bear arms. Every year the gun control laws get stricter. In California a security guard shot thirty-one people before a police officer arrived to stop him (Torr 60). In Israel all citizens are allowed to carry canceled weapons and they have some of the lowest crime rates. He killed one person before a citizen shot him. By putting more laws on guns and who can carry them just puts us at more of a risk. There are many stories like this one where gun control laws have increased violence. " If it is reasonable for people to reduce the risk of burglary by buying insurance it is far more reasonable for people to reduce the risk of burglary by buying a gun for home protection" unlike insurance a gun can actually stop a victim from getting hurt (Kim 82). The more laws they place on firearms the more danger were put in.
