Quite a Learning Experience

             Infamous Jerry Bruckheimer has once again brought real life drama to tv. CBS has without doubt won over critics with this acclaimed program. Crime Scene Investigators, has become my ritual every week since the series began four years ago. The intense scenes and brilliant camera tricks draw the viewer into the show. Although it is not an extremely realistic show it has demonstrates different angles of a crime scene investigators work. The thrill of the hunt and chase along with the presentation of the capture keep people coming back for more. If you're into mysteries than this is the show for you. It allows for a gruesome murder, a case to develop, an investigation to occur, and an arrest to be made all in one hour.
             CSI features a team of forensic investigators trained to solve crimes the old-fashioned way -- by examining the evidence. The team's leader, Gil Grissom, heads the Las Vegas Criminalistics Bureau. Investigators include: Catherine Willows, a single parent who has to juggle her job and motherhood, Capt. Jim Brass, Warrick Brown, and Nick Stokes. The detectives use deduction to track down criminals using clues such as: footprints, carpet fibers, and the imprint of a license- plate number on a hit-and-run victim's bruised leg.
             Because the series deals with forensic investigations, CSI contains a great deal of violence. Throughout each episode, the crimes committed are slowly recreated and shown in flashback sequences, so violent acts may be replayed several times throughout the hour. Graphic images, including close-ups of corpses with gunshot wounds and other bloody injuries, are common. Other graphic scenes have depicted cannibalism, a fully nude female corpse, and mutilated victims of a deranged killer. These settings are not suitable for children. The show does carry a tv-13 rating meaning that viewers should be 13 years and older, even so a parent should be around when watching
