Job

             Job is a main focus in the Old Testament book of the same name. Job in that time resided in Uz. He was a very wealthy man who had vast herds of animals. Job also had seven sons and three daughters. He was a devoutly religious and pious man.
             Job journey begins when Satan goes and talks to God. Then the Lord said to Lucifer, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." Satan proposes that if he takes away all of Job's belongings he would curse God to his face. God allows Lucifer to take away everything Job has including his children. After all of his possessions had been destroyed Job fell to the ground and praised God. Job realized all these things were from God, and were God's to take. Job did not accuse God of wrongdoing. Job did not sin.
             Satan then went to God yet again and asks for permission to harm Job physically. Lucifer said, "A man will give all he has for his own life. But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face." God allows him to hurt Job, but not kill him. Satan returns to Earth and puts boils and sores on Job from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. Job's wife encourages him to curse God and die. Job just takes a broken piece of pottery and scraps his sores. He did not sin.
             Job had three friends named Bildad the Shuhite, Eliphaz the Temanite, and Zophar the Namathite. They heard about Job's troubles and came to visit him. They had agreed to sympathize and comfort Job. They could barely recognize their friend. They sat with him for seven days and nights. They didn't talk to him because of his great suffering. Job finally curses the day he was born. He wishes he had been born dead.
