Thanksgiving

             Thanksgiving is a day to sit and reflect on what we truly are grateful for. We eat a huge meal and talk to family or friends and share what we are thankful for over the years. Personally I am grateful for many things. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to live in a country where I am free to feel, think, and say what I want. I am grateful for having the privilege to be able to drive and have a car. I'm grateful to have a house, food, and all the commodities that a middle class family would have. I'm very grateful that I have people in my life that I am able to talk to. What I am grateful for most all is that I was blessed with a family that care about me, support me in all that I do, and take care of me when I need them the most. I am blessed to come from such a nice size family that no matter what there was always one person to be there and take care of me when I need them most. Without my family I don't know where I'd be, I would defiantly be a different person. My family has always been there through the roughest of times for me to help, support, and guide me down the right path.
             I am so thankful that my parents care about me because I see all of these parents that just kept their kids because it was convenient for them to do so. Or the parents that took the kids in during a divorce to receive child support. It's all so saddening. I teach autistic kids for a living and one of my families has two kids that are autistic, a boy and a girl. The little girl was born with brain cancer, and then became autistic. I was talking to her and she told me that if she could do it all over again she wouldn't ever have kids. That's sad to me because, I'm not saying that she doesn't care about her kids but she is very selfish in her statement, she cares more about her personal interests as apposed to what her children need.
