mother-son relationships

             There are many important factors in a mother-son relationship. Even a relationship with any of your parents or relatives is very important and shapes a persons life. One of the most glorious relationships is a mother-son relationship. Confidence, faith and support are only a few important components that a mother-son relationship must have. In both poems "Edward" and "A blessing from my Sixteen Years' Son" there is some sort of mother-son relationship but they are different, unique and similar in many, various ways. Both poems have many examples of literary terms and point of views that distinguish these two poems.
             In "Edward" the author writes about a mother who is asking her son many different questions about his day. In the beginning the mother seems to be very caring, and interested about her son because she is questioning his sword, and the blood that drips from it. Her son Edward says that he has killed his dog but the mother says that his dog's blood was never so red. Finally Edward seems so fed up with all the questions that his mother is asking him that he finally decides to tell her the truth that he has killed his own father. She quickly asks him what penance will he do for him to be forgiven. He says that he will sail away on his boat. His mother asks him what he will do with his towers and all his land and property. He answers back " Ile let thame stand tul they doun fa, mither, mither" Then she asks, and what will you leave to your wife and kids and he says "the world is big enough for them to go begging". She asks her last question. " And what will you leave to your own dear mother?" and he says " The curse of hell frae me sall ye beir.. Sic counseils ye gave to me O". I think that by this the son meant that now he feels guilty about doing what he did to his father and that he will not be leaving anything to his mother since she was proba...
