UNDERSTANDING SECURITIES AND SECURITIES MARKETSThe Fed exercises control over money and financial markets using a limited range of indirect tools: open market operations, discount rates, reserve requirements, and margin requirements. Most warrants are for specific periods - usually 5 to 10 years - although continuous warrants that never expire can be issued. Other much smaller regional exchanges are located in Boston, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Chicago, and San Francisco and Los Angeles. CDs can have maturities of as much as five years, although most are for periods no longer than 6- to 18-months, and to be traded in the money markets must generally have less than one year to go to maturity. The bull is also the result of the increasing per capita income of the nations who are now capable of using securities as a means of investment and earning interests. Certificates of deposit (CDs) are negotiable securities issued by commercial banks to depositors based on time deposits that the banks hold for them.
