I Want a Wife Too

             These stories, written by Judy Brady talks about how hard people expect the wife to work in order to keep the Man happy. You can't blame Judy Brady for wanting a wife because they were expected to be a good cook, to clean, take care of the children and everything else around the house and we cannot forget she must sexually satisfy him. The man was still in school and he did not want any responsibilities; he believed that it would interfere with his learning. It obviously would have, doing these households chores would have put more stress on him and gave him less time to study. In the end these chores would have made him unhappy. The ideal wife should do all of this to keep her man happy. Knowing the way women are expected to work the author jokingly Says, "I want a wife too" so she can do the work for her.
             In the 1950's men had different expectations of their wife. When the man was gone during the day the wife must take care of the house, this includes all the laundry, cleaning the house, doing the dishes, cleaning the bathroom, dusting, sweeping this is a lot of work but its nothing compared to what the man is doing. She must also make sure that she looks good for her husband. He works hard all day and he just wants to come home to a clean house. The only thing the man should have to clean is his garage because this is like his home away from home.
             Another thing a wife should be in charge of is taking care of the children. She should wake them up for school in the morning, make them breakfast, get them dressed and make their lunches. She should make sure that they have all their schoolbooks. She should be able to sew so that if the kid's clothes rip she can repair them. These things are all very important. When there is a newborn child she should be the one getting up in the middle of the night because the man should not be tired when he goes to work. Seeing as
