Prime Minister
I am so thrilled to have been elected as the new Prime Minister of Canada! I have so many desires of what I would like to change for the better while I am elected. My first priority is to examine some of the issues facing Canada's Aboriginal people. When I look back on the history of Canada's governing, it saddens and angers me that there really has not been much change in the problems facing Aboriginal people. One of the reasons I decided to run for Prime Minister was that I was sick of the government implementing all these new programs and solutions but, with there being no actual change in the outcome. It is time to take on a fresh look at what the actual issues concerning Aboriginal peoples are. I find myself getting easily overwhelmed when I look at all the problems. I have to remind myself that I cannot change everything at once, but that I can be the catalyst for continued change in the future. I hope that my vision will be increased daily as to what can be done, and that I will not get discouraged. So with that, I am going to bed now - I have a busy first day tomorrow. This is the start of my first week as Prime Minister! Today was an eventful day -
Work needs to be done in this area, and schools should make this a priority. Is encourages me to see people who support my ideas and who share my vision. These ratings will be a continual source to gauge the improvements in Aboriginal education. Though there are many more issues I would like to address, the ones I have written in here so far are starts. People attending these conferences will be able to find practical information about what they can do to maximize their health and well-being. I suppose that leads me to the issue of maintaining the family unit in Aboriginal homes. I am going to implement a regular rating system for all schools with a significant Aboriginal population. I will also provide better education regarding the effects of alcohol and drugs on a relationship. Another issue I am going to address tomorrow is that of Aboriginal health. The conference topics will range from diabetes and addiction prevention, to Hepatitis C, children's health, as well as Aboriginal cultural awareness and wellness. There needs to be better systems in place in terms of helping Aboriginal people manage their health better. They will also provide incentives for school districts to improve in this area.
