Teenage Driving

I caught a story on the local news the other day. Three teenagers were killed when the car they were riding in swerved into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head on. None of the kids were drinking or on drugs, it was speculated that the cause of the accident was driver error. I believe that the legal driving age should be raised 2 years to the age of 18. It will help to save the lives of many teenagers for generations to come. Judging from personal experience, primarily I feel that children at this age are still struggling to master their decision making skills. Second, teens deal with many distractions that can keep their attention from the road. Finally, the overwhelmingly large number of teenagers who lose their lives prematurely from accidents like this every year should be reason enough alone to make this law change happen.I know there have been times in my life where I haven't made the right decisions

Teenager's high school years are filled with an enormous number of social issues. The remaining seven all died in accidents that were caused by kids doing stupid but "cool" things like racing and showing off. It is easy for their judgment to be clouded by issues dealing with peers. We give them two valuable years of developing their decision making process and discovering their identities. I was with hanging out with friends. My high school may have lost more or less students than other schools. Of that nine two were killed in accidents where they were hit by drunk drivers. The motivation for the wrong doing was usually based on entertaining or impressing friends. The remaining nine were all killed in automobile crashes. Two years to extend their lives many. We were all showing off and having a good time. It seems to me that the majority of my poor choices happened in my teenage years. I once jumped that car 5 feet in the air going up the down ramp at the local mall.
