My Christian Camp Experience
The year was 1998 and I was 14 years old. I had just graduated from the eighth grade and I didn't really know what I was going to do for the summer. As I left school I was walking with two of my friends, Dominique and Janno. Janno was talking about how he was going to a summer camp and about how it was going to be so much fun. I wanted to know how he was getting to the camp and who would he be going with. I was interested in the idea of a summer camp because I had never been before. Janno said that he would be going with Mr. Prince. I knew Mr. Prince because he used to be around the school all the time because his son and daughter went there. I thought he was just trying to be a concerned parent. I asked Janno why was Mr. Prince taking him to the camp. I thought Mr. Prince was just being nice or that Janno was really good friends with Mr. Prince's son, P.J. Janno told me that he was going to the camp because Mr. Prince was his pastor and that it was a Christian camp. My whole image of the camp changed at that moment. I was going to church every Sunday wanting to learn more about Jesus. When the bus pulled up to my age groups site I saw a big red, white and blue sign that said Kids across America. That bus ride became annoying after the seventh hour. I did it just so that I would not seem like a problem child. Consequently, I missed a lot of exciting things, but I participated in a lot of fun one's also. So that meant there were forty different personalities that guardians had to deal with. I asked him very timidly, did she say that I could go. I was so ready to board the bus and commence to getting my mind set ready for the camp's beautiful landscaping. I jumped to my feet anxiously and dashed to the front door. Prince's house there were at least forty other kids were there. I don't think every one had as much as I did.
