The Effect Exercise On Heart R

Aim: To investigate how exercise affects heart rate.Introduction: The heart is rate is how many times the heartbeats in a certain period, normally a minute; this gives the unit bpm (beats per minute). During rest, the heart beats about 70 times a minute in the adult male, while pumping about 5 litres of blood. The heart rate is affected by many things these included;Heat Rate The body senses the need for an increased pulse rate through two main mechanisms. The first is a series of baroreceptors (these are specialized cells that can sense the pressure of the blood). These cells are in the carotid sinus. The carotid arteries are the major blood vessels that feed your brain; there is one artery on each side of your head. The baroreceptors in the carotid sinus can tell when the blood pressure is low (thus, not enough blood is making it to the brain). They then send signals over nerves to the heart, telling it to speed up and contract more forcefully. This raises blood pressure. Since the brain is the most important organ, it makes sense that

To try a control this the subject will not communicate with anyone bar myself and that will only be to tell me his heart rate in doing this he will not become excited. My prediction I made earlier was correct, and that was the more intense the exercise, the faster the subjects heart rate. This is caused by the shortage of ATP. I will then work out his heart rates percentage increase for each exercise. This results in lactic acid being formed. The second major way is by our brains sensing danger or excitement and telling the heart to speed up. However, during the final exercises the heart rate does not increase much at all. To make sure this is a fair test I will ensure that the subject is the same, will run the same course, that he has not consumed any caffeine as this can increase heat rate. A lot of energy will be used up as the exercise takes place, thus resulting in a further increase. The increased metabolic rate results in carbon dioxide building up in muscle tissue. period to rest and then take I will take his resting heartbeat. The other effecting factors during the experiment will not change that drastically hence they will not affect the heat rate that much. They were the Weather conditions and the amount of adrenaline within the subjects' body. Finally, the CO2 levels would also rise which would also contribute to the heart rate rising.
