Although the Nazi's had a great deal of success with youth, they certainly did not have it all their way. The Nazi's used two major institutions to achieve their aims and values: the school system and, in particular, youth groups. Once youngsters left education and youth movements, they would join other Nazi organisations such as RAD and DAF, to ensure that they did not escape control. The Nazi's hoped that his influence of such an array of institutions would predominate over the traditional, and possibly hostile, influences of parents and the church.

The Nazi's policies towards women suffered from several contradictions, for example over their attitude towards marriage and family. This was backed up by the intimidation to persuade members to conform to all the states demands .
