Reprogenics, Ethics, and Our F

Advancements in the medical field have given us the ability to treat and cure certain diseases. In the near future one may be able to have a child who is immune to all diseases by using reprogenics. Through reprogenics one may also choose the sex of their child, what their child will look like, and what attributes or skills they want their child to possess or not possess. However, many people question just how far reprogenics should go. If only the rich can afford reprogenics, will prejudices arise between the "perfect" and the normal? Many people could live normal lives, while if they had not undergone genetic screening as an infant, they may have been looked upon as handicapped. Some religions think it is all right to remove disorders and diseases through reprogenics, but do not think it is right to give the child "plastic surgery. I believe everyone should have the choice to use reprogenics, but the people who decide to use it must be informed that there may be future risks involved. Are the parents sure that this may be the best for their child (Chen)? Also, both of these groups argue that no one knows what may happen to genetically altered children in the future.
