Japanese Invasion
One of the major events in the 20th century of china was the Japanese invasion in china. It depicted a part in history, which shows how many "foreign" countries were taking a bite out of china. Many claimed that it was china's raw material and growing population that Japan attacked. The Japanese attack was a surprise to china because it took them by a shock. Considering that the nationalist and communist parties were against each other they didn't think Japan would attack them. They had to decide to take Chinese territories. Although Japan Had seized control of Manchuria on September 1931. However the two parties KMT and CCP didn't concentrate on the Japanese problem they were more concerned abut beating each other.
