McCarthyism

             McCarthyism, a term used to relate to an event in the past similar the Salem Witch Trial. After World War 2, many Americans are dubious about their lives, so they joined different organizations or parties in search for a better future. Many joined the Communist Party hoping it would be fortunate for their future. It so happens that after World War 2, Soviet Union started to change different countries into Communist countries. It started after President Roosevelt's death which led to Stalin's plan to convert countries. After Soviet Union invaded Hungary and compelled Hungary cooperation with Soviet Union. This invasion surprised United States and it was the beginning of the spread of Communism. The United States wasn't as concerned about the issue because it was still influential only in the Eastern Hemisphere. This soon changed when many Americans within United States joined secret societies that involved communist activities.
             Senator Joseph McCarthy declared The Red Scare which was an era that started from 1948 to 1956. This was a period of time when many Americans were indicted for having associations with the Communist Party. These accusations were not supported by sufficient and efficient evidences, but many Americans were in fear, thus gave McCarthy his full support. Although some accusations may have been true, many weren't and this ruined the lives of many American citizens. Some citizens even committed suicide while others fled the
             country in order to avoid being accused. Many famous writers who were accused had to write stories from another country and sent the story back in order to companies to continue their movie production. Many people saw that communists were worse than murderers. Those who were suspected as communist were known as traitors.
