Jak the ripper

1. Source A suggests that the murders of Martha Tabrum and Polly Nicholls were motiveless and brutal. the source shows this by saying there was 'no adequate motive in the shape of plunder'. It also says they where brutal and done by a 'demented being' this means that the newspaper reporter thinks that the person who did it was mentally unstable. They are obviously brutal murders because they used such extraordinary violence. They are also described as interesting because they are seemingly motiveless and they have used so much violence that the police were intrigued as to why they would do it. I know they are different and unique because they call them 'peculiar'. They also stand out because there is not motive.2. In some ways the evidence of source C supports the evidence of source a because source C is a factual a account and a official report so the medical notes are likely to be accurate where as source A is properly opinionated. although somewhat surprisingly there are not many things they agree on that are actually written, because they have chosen to focus of different aspects of the different victims. But the things they do agree on are that there was no money found on the body's which they

As the source comes from an eyewitness account you would expect it to be very useful tot eh police because an eyewitness is the best type evidence at the time as long as they are credible, in regards to catching a killer, but not in this case. On the other hand it isn't useful because you are not sue how reliable the informant is, and whether his opinion is shared by the majority o the community. the article has a very 'I told you so attitude' you get the impression that he thinks he knows it all. to find out how reliable the information is I would like to know his background and whether he does have any kind of grudge. However it doesn't tell us a lot, in fact there very little we know for sure, some of the things we don't know are his hair colour, estimated weight, build, facial features and anything that would make him stand out of the crowd. I helps us find out why they didn't catch him because what she has told us shows us he is very average looking with nothing really standing out about him, he was 'shabby gentile' and ore a dark coat much like millions of other men. 'police force should be strengthened to created order on the streets. Source E, a newspaper article, is also useful because it tells us an opinion of the writers on how well he thinks the police are handling the killings, because the bare facts can give a false picture on ho they where doing. What this source does do is helps us understand that he must have been quite clever or just lucky, to stop eyewitnesses seeing him and being able to picking him out.
