Condoms

             "More than half of American teenagers have had sexual intercourse and face significant sexual health risks. Each year, over one million teenagers become pregnant, one in seven teenagers contract an STD, and one in five hundred students are infected with HIV." A large amount of high school students that are sexually active do not use condoms consistently. I believe that schools should distribute condoms to students. School condom distribution can help prevent teenage pregnancy, STD's and can save money for students.
             One main reason why school should distribute condoms to students is because it can prevent teenage pregnancy. Condoms are 90% effective. With the large number of teenage pregnancies, there will be a great decrease if condoms are given out in schools. Students will not only be given condoms, but they will have more knowledge about the bad affects of having unprotected sex and this can lead to more students having safer sex.
             Condoms distribution in schools can also help prevent students from getting STD's. Condoms are highly effective against to STDs when used correctly. Having condoms distributed in schools can help raise awareness about STDs and how condoms can help prevent them. STDs are infecting many students and one of the ways to help prevent it is by distributing condoms in schools.
             Condom distribution in schools can also help students that cant afford them. Condoms are very highly priced from $2 to $10 dollars a pack. Many students that are aware of the dangers of unsafe sex still don't use condoms because they can't afford them. Having condoms distributed in school can lead to more students having condoms instead of wasting big money on them which a lot of students cant afford.
