Anna's story

Anna's story written by Bronwyn Donaghy it is a no-fiction text that looks at teenager's actions, problems and lives in today's society. The Author Bronwyn Donaghy specialises in writing about issues that effect families and children, informing the readers about teenage drug use and drug dealing within our society, and sadly Bronwyn Donaghy died in 2002. The message Bronwyn Donaghy is trying to get across in the novel is how teenagers and parents have trouble communicating with each other about issues such as drug taking and drug peddling. The reader is positioned to know how drugs can affect families and friends forever. The reader is encouraged to feal sympathy for drug users who have died and their families, and annoyed with the people who supply the drugs to the teenagers.Anna's Story paints a clear picture of the issues surrounding drug abuse and drug dealing. Through the chapters in the text the reader learns that there is not one issue but many. Part One: "The looking glass" highlights how the family feels about Anna and drug use and drug dealing. The text in Anna's Story is structured so the reader is able to see how teenage drug use and drug dealing can be tragic and how a family can make a decision to try and turn tragedy into a positive force for good. In Tony's story, Anna's father believes Anna's drug use was influenced by her friends, which made him dislike many of Anna's friends. ter had tried drugs such as marijuana as she says "I know she has tried marijuana actually we tried it together". Angela also pointed out how Anna never had any money for drugs so her mother didn't worry. Anna Woods life was perfect, she had a wonderful family, plenty of friends a dream job but all that changed when she took an ecstasy tablet. Each of these sections helps the reader understand how drugs and drug dealing can affect a happy family and destroy a beautiful, innocent and talented young girl. Through Tony's point of view about Anna's relationships with friends affected her at an early age so it affected her greatly when she grew up and got into the wrong crowd who took drugs, smoked and drank alcohol, thus give the reader to feel sympathy as she always hanged around the wrong people, which got Anna into no good. Anna's Story tells the reader what it can do to your life, family and friends. Anna was not always a perfect teenager; she had her good time and her bad times but still cared for everything and everyone in her life. Anna's mother always talked to Anna about drugs and how they affect people's lives, but this did not affect Anna as she did it anyway. Part One "The looking Glass", explores many important points relevant to Anna Wood's interesting life as she was a perfect young teenager as all of her friends and family described her. Through the structure of the text it makes clear that Anna's Story relates to everyday issues concerning teenage drug use and drug dealing. There are two parts of the text Part one "The looking Glass" and Part two "Wonderland". Alice knew she would try the drug one day so she decided to try it with her little sister to see what it was like as they were curious teenagers.
