A different church

When I first arrived, the outside of the church was a little different looking than most churches. Most churches have steeples, while this one is more flat top. It flourished with brown brick and stone sculptures on the outside walls. I could tell that most of the people who were attending the mass were middle to upper class individuals. There were generally a lot of nice cars in the parking lot, but most of the people had to park across the street in a business lot because the church lot was not

When I first walked into the church, a member of the congregation shook my hand and gave me a First United Methodist mug. There was some kind of tapestry work hanging down the left and right side walls of the church. The bulletin board stated all the things that a regular church bulletin would. However, if I could strengthen this experiment, I would simply say to attend 2-3 masses instead of one. There are many families participating in the service and with activities after church. The carpet was a brownish color, and there were two preacher podiums on the left and right side up at the altar or the front of the church.

I always thought the Catholic church I attended was pretty luxurious, but this church was also pretty nice.

All in all, I thought this assignment was a good experience, but it had its pros and cons. We talked about faith, and were introduced to each other. These banners represented the Spring season. These are the things that are repetitive. I looked at the bulletin and it said there was a children’s sermon for ten minutes before the mass started. This is where we learn the lessons. The structure of the mass remains the same and never changes. Following the sermon, a money tray is passed around the crowd where donations are made.
