Primary Education - India

When a child is born, he has a blank mind which is unable to analyses a data and taking a crucial decision. It is born with a tongue which speak some ambiguous language through which it cann't communicate with mass. So at a certain stage it goes to school to learn that language and the ability through with not only he could communicate but also develop a analytical mind. So for a person its initial education of 5-8 years plays a not only vital but also crucial role to shape the person so that it can contribute in the building process of a nation. This initial education is called PRIMARY EDUCATION. For a person primary education works as a base of its life.India has a rich heritage of EDUCATION. Since the inception of Aryan culture our society is deeply involved to educate the society. In the "GURUKUL SHIKSHA PADDATI", the period of age 5-25 years was of study for a person. Our forefathers had a view that if a society is administered by educated person only then it would be able to establish itself as a progressive and developed nation. Although there were some leak points in Gurukul Shiksha but the motto was same as it is today. A person starts its education at the early age

The central government has also decided to grant financial incentives and scholarships for the girl child born in families living below the poverty line. Second, in order to promote private initiative in education consistent with an envisaged realigned role of state involvement in elementary education, a status study focusing on the extent of demand for and provision of private elementary education is planned. In 1951, child literacy rates were as low as in Uttar Pradesh or Bihar (see graphic). The Policy visualises direct community involvement in the form of Village Education Committees (VECs) for management of elementary education. Per capita expenditure on education in Himachal Pradesh is twice as high as the all-India average. Even the monthly foodgrain rations which are meant to be distributed as a substitute for cooked meals routinely fail to materialise. Children are huddled in a dark, tiny storeroom and an adjacent open space where the owner keeps domestic animals. No wonder that the younger children make slow progress. The coverage of the project has extended to 75 blocks, covering a population of approximately 12 million. This implies that even if all teachers are always present and actively teaching during school hours, the total amount of teacher time per child is, on an average, just around one hour a month.
