According to the dictionary, ethics is a set of moral principles or values. Morals are principles or standards with respect to right or wrong in conduct. Everyone has developed their own idea of what principles they should go by and what they think is right and wrong differently. For some, important people such as parents, friends, and teachers have been the main influence in their moral development. For others, religion has been an important part in their ethical growth. Certain experiences in life may have helped other people realize what is right and wrong, or may have simply helped them strengthen the ethical ideas they already have. Everyone’s set of morals has been influenced by important people in their lives, religion, certain experiences in life, or all of these.
My parents and the Catholic Church have been the main influences of my moral development. My father and mother have taught me right from wrong ever since I was old enough to understand. They taught me the principles that they lived by and helped me lear

I believe that I have learned the true meaning of respect and its importance. My mother would tell me that it sounded very rude and disrespectful. Everything that I have been taught by my parents has always been under the Catholic Church"tms teachings. This unforgettable event took place at a Memorial Day party that my friend"tms parents had. From that moment on, I stopped saying "duh" for I had finally realized how disrespectful it was. So I asked one of the ladies standing near the kitchen if there was any soda. I have had many experiences in life that have proven to me that what I have been taught is true and crucial, but I believe that a certain incident was one of the most significant turning points in my ethical growth. I also became very cautious of what I said. The Catholic Church also plays a large role in influencing my ethical ideas because all my beliefs have been in accordance to my church. n how to make good choices on my own. Therefore, my treatment to others was always with respect. My mother would also tell me about her own experiences in problems much like my own and what she would do as a solution. I realized that such an expression was rude and very disrespectful. This incident made quite a lasting impression on my moral development in several ways. She looked at me with a critical glance and said "Well, duh there is!" I was so shocked and embarrassed at the way she replied to me.
