Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King is the number one person we hear about during Black History Month. He is a very important man who had good intentions, but his dreams never came true. All his hopes and dreams were shattered to the ground the day he was killed. All because of racism, a guy that just wanted to help the world to be a better place was killed. He was a very friendly, helpful, and caring person with a big heart. It's unfortunate he couldn't have helped to get on track. Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Jan 15,1929. His birth name was Michael Luther King; his name had changed when he was 6 years of age. Martin was only one of the three children in his family. His father's name was Martin Luther King Sr. and his mother's name was Alberta(Gale). His father just happened to be the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church while his mother was a school teacher at a segregated school in Georgia. Martin graduated high school at the age of 15 and was enrolled into Morehouse College in 1944(Gale). In the month of September 1954, King and his wife moved to Montgomery, Alabama. Through all this chaos, King meets John F. He is one of the biggest controversial symbols of the African Americans. Through the years that he was alive and willing to help the African Americans, he really did. Last was their youngest, Bernice, in 1963(Gale). Ray shot him in the neck with a rifle. They made a family of their own as the time went by. This was all formed to provide new leadership for the Civil rights movement. The blacks and whites now rode the bus as equals. Following with the third was Dexter in 1961. The Hotel that he was assassinated in is now known as the National Civil Rights Museum. He helped them to get their transportation rights and he helped them to get some of the respect that they deserved. They show programs and art of Martin Luther King(Issac). He had his place and mark on everyone's heart that he spoke to.
