The Similarities and Differences Of Abigail Williams and Hester Prynne In the movies, The Scarlet Letter and The Crucible, characters Abigail Williamsand Hester Prynne have many similarities and differences. They were both strongdetermined women, but only one had integrity. Even though they were two differentcharacter who were in two different situations, they still had some common features! Both Abigail and Hester were very strong women. She did whatever had to do tokeep her lies covered. Abigail tried ruin John's life because ofher lust for him. While in prison Hesterhad a baby girl, which she named Pearl. When they were asked about it they lied on innocent people. When Elizabeth was sick, John committed adultery with Abigail. But yet, they still had somethings in common. Theyclaimed that other people's spirits made them dance in the forest. They locked Hester Prynne away in prison. hillingworthbeing away and Hester being pregnant, the townspeople found out that Hester hadcommitted adultery. Hester committedadultery with Dimmesdale.
