Impression Management

             In my second POR I was asked to describe several aspects of self and my impression management. Along with that I was asked to describe how this came to be and what relationships these aspects affect. First of all the 3 aspects of 'self' for myself come from different sources, but all tie in together to form who I am.
             My material self consists, of course, of my material possessions and tangible belongings. My material self consists of my body, clothes, car, computer, stereo, snowboard, etc. All of these are in some way related to my personality. My clothes and snowboard are a direct reflection of who I am. Although you cant tell everything about me from these, you can form an idea of who I am just from the clothes I am wearing, the car I drive, etc. (stereotyping). Most of my material self comes from my parents because I cannot afford all of these things on my current salary (0$). Some belongings of course come from friends and family in the form of celebratory gifts. These notions have not been a part of my identity for very long. First of all, most of my belongings from my childhood, I no longer possess. Also I never viewed money in the way I do now. As a child money was only a word to me, and I'm sure it was only a word to most of my peers. But now that I've grown up a little bit, that word plays a significant role in the social structure surrounding me. Most of the time I see this dimension of self in a positive manner. I have several possessions that express who I am and I feel that more often than not, this is a healthy expression of the self.
             My social self consists of the reflections I receive from my social interaction with others. My social self is different around different groups of people. The way I act when I'm with the group of friends I hang out on the weekends is different than the way I interact with my family, for example. The ways I interact with
