capone

"For most people the very mention of organized crime conjures up a whole range of vivid images - the roaring 20s, Chicago, bootleg whiskey, speakeasies, and of course, Al Capone." (Black 13). It is not that Chicago, or even America, ever had a monoply on organized crime, it is merely the very public nature of its criminals which is so evocotive. Gangsters with colourful nicknames like "Legs" Dimond , Machine Gun Jack Magurn, and Al "Scarface" Capone, captured public imagination and became part of criminal folklore. However, On January 17, 1899, in Brooklyn New York, A criminal mastermind was born. Al Cap

He was not only a bloodthirsty gangster, but he was a smart man as well. It was these three events that proved that Alphonse Capone was showing signs of being a crime lord at a young age. Al avoided punishment for this crime however, because the cops were never able to catch him. When capone was aproxamently 11 years old " He proceeded to beat up his 6th grade teacher was later beaten by the principal and then left school for good"(Jacobs 66). By Instinct , young scarface, as he would later be known as through out the untied states, thought guns would solve all of his problems (Jacobs 65). When he was a young boy about the age of 13, he became a member of the deadly 5 points gang. He was able to avoid paying taxes(, and he also was able to out smart the other gangs of Chicago. Another instance is when Al was only 15 years old . one was born the fourth of nine children to his parents who immigrated from Naples to Brooklyn in 1899. Al Capone was a crime lord by age 26, however , he showed signs of being a gangster at an early age. He shot and killed two men that were stealing from his father. This was the first time that he had killed a man, but it would definently not be the last. Al Capone rose to the top of the organized crime game in a very quick and fastidious manner.
