The great debate on globalisation is in full swing. Can or should it be stopped? What are the benefits and what are the downsides? It is not just a passing trend. Today it is an overreaching international system shaping the domestic politics and foreign relations of virtually every country.
             In my research I hope to address the questions above and be able to come to a conclusion on the ultimate question is it a force for good or bad? I know that there are people who are vigorously in support of globalisation and people who are robustly against it. But the majority of people will see it as something 'that is' and want to see it managed in the best way possible for everyone. Through my research I hope to gather evidence and weigh up the pros and cons and come to a conclusion on the matter.
             I have chosen to do this study because globalisation is a new age that we are entering into which an captures nearly of the whole planet. With so many conflicting views of the topic I want to use research from people who have done studies into it and opinions from people who know about it to find out if it is something good to be nurtured or something to be afraid of. I have a keen interest in history and am intrigued of how the modern day world works and this is a issue that should be the central to international debate an also debate among the general public who seem to regard it with little relevance to them in this country.
             I hope to use structured interviews to carry out my research interviewing three people in the know about the subject including someone with a degree in economics, a university student who has covered globalisation in their degree and a globalisation protester. I am also go in to use studies done by a number of sociologist's including, George Ritzer, Walt Rostow, Anthony Giddens and more.
