Martin Luther King Jr.
Who would have thought that at a small, downtown motel in Memphis, the life of a man who changed the way people thought about the civil rights, and convinced his country to end racial discrimination, would end. So we might think we know about Martin Luther King Jr. But how did he grow up? How did he get to be the well known man that he is today. Martin Luther King Jr. was an amazing person that did so much for the Civil Rights movement, and the African-American people. Michael Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. When Michael was 6 years old, his father decided to change both of their names from Michael, to Martin. They did this out of respect for Martin Luther the German reformist ("The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."). So now we have Martin Luther King Jr. His friends soon called him M.L. He also had 1 brother and 1 sister ("The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."). He had a fairly good home life. His dad and grandpa were people Martin looked up to. His dad was a preacher in Atlanta at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. His grandfather was also a Baptist pastor ("Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Leader"). Martin Luther King Jr.'s parents taught their kids important lessons from the Bible
But I'm not concerned with that now. But while he was there he decided on studying something else, a girl Coretta Scott. said:We've got some difficult days ahead. In those 3 years King was arrested several times by Southern police, he was beaten up, stoned, and someone bombed his house. But on April 4, 1968, James Earl Ray shot and killed Rev. was not very rich, he gave away the money. He did so much for only being one person. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
