WWII

During World War II many significant factors helped Germany become a powerful country, however many factors led to Germany's fall. Two things that increased Germany's power were Tanks, and there Aircrafts. Germany also had a very powerful tactic they used. Although Germany had these powerful weapons of war, Russia and the United States had many powerful weapons too, but also produced there weapons faster. Between the years 1933 and 1945 Germany's industry developed and produced a chain of tank models which were called "Panzerkamfwagen" which means "Armored Fighting Vehicle". The German military called them for short "Panzer" (armor). The Panzer 1 was a very small light tank which held two people and was armed with two light machineguns. It was produced in the mid 1930's as a training tank, then finally used in WWII. The Panzer 2 was still a light tank with a crew of three, and this tank was developed in the mid 1930 as a short-term tank till the arrival of the Panzer 3. Although this tank was only intended as a training tank, it was the main tank in the Blitzkrieg invasions of Poland and France, were about 1000 Panzer 2's participated. This tank also participated in the invasion of Russia in 1941, alth

The Tiger was a heavy tank with a crew of five. One of the most extreme examples was the design and production in late 1944 of the He-162 Salamander, which was a jet fighter made mostly of wood. Instead it was equipped with two 37mm anti-tank guns. The Stuka had one main disadvantage; it was a very easy prey for enemy fighter pilots. It was the main German tank in 1940-1942. It's very thick armor, especially in the front, protected it from the guns of enemy tanks, but made it slow, because its engine could not compensate for its very heavy weight of 69 tons, and its size made it harder and harder to hide than other tanks, which was a serious problem given the massive presence of allied fighter bombers at that stage of the war. Two prototypes were ready for Hitler's birthday, and one, by Herschel, was selected for production. It was rushed into production without proper trials, and as a result more panthers were initially lost to mechanical problems than to enemy action. ough it was already outdated and lacked armor and firepower. It carried a shirt-barreled 75mm gun, later replaced by a stronger long-barreled 75mm gun, and two machine guns. These tanks and aircrafts did a lot to help Germany take over many parts of other countries, but Russia had three unique advantages. This was particularly severe in Russian winter, where frozen mud totally immobilized Tigers during the night, making them sitting ducks in the morning, when Russians attacked. It had an extremely powerful gun and matching optics, allowed it to kill every tank from a longer range. Although these guns were no longer effective in ground use against the front thick armor of the modern Russian tanks, they were still very lethal against the much thinner rear and top armor of those tanks. A total of just 4,800 were produced.
