Volvo Ocean Race

I’ve always loved the Volvo Ocean Race and the Whitbread. Every time it comes something on TV about it like a TV-show or a documentary, I would risk my life not to miss it. I just love the boats lean on the side and it goes so fast. Actually they can sail over 35 knots (65 km/h) when the wind pushes hard on the sails. I have a sailing boat my self but it can’t get over 8 knots (15 km/h).

Now, in this paragraph I will show you what I’m going to talk about in this project. I will show you a bit about the boats, how they were designed to sail so fast, and so on. I will talk about why they started something like the Volvo Ocean Race. Is there a man that sailed around the world in a special time or what? I will talk about the racetrack and how it was built. I will also talk a little bit about the Volvo Baltic Race witch is a race that goes around Sweden Denmark and Germany. I will talk about what kind of boats there are and what the stations are for each racing track. At last I will show you a movie, which I recorded from a TV-show. It’s about the Volvo Ocean Race when the boats were in Gothenburg, were I am in it.

Now I’m done with my introduction and showed you most of the things which will be in the

. . .

Race four will be a short inshore race. After the first 5 races from 1973 - 1990 had bin, Whitbread PLC decided that all the boats that raced should be the same. The crew will have better living conditions in the boat as well. Race six will then go to Warnemünde. The fourth day in Stockholm after huge parties and other fun stuff, the boats will start their last race six, which will be around Gotland race. I would have to organize every little detail for the journey.
