Anxiety Disorder

Everyone has felt anxiety. It is the fear, apprehension, and often the expectation of unspecified danger. It is considered a normal natural response used everyday to figure out whether a situation is dangerous or not. How to differentiate a normal anxiety form an abnormal disorder: * The intensity of the anxiety; whether or not the anxiety matches the circumstance. * The length of the anxiety is inappropriate to what is causing the anxiety* Adequately respond to make a decision in what to do in that our body has alarm us to some danger. Disorders associated with anxiety are Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia Disorder, Other Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive compulsive disorder, General Anxiety disorder, Post-traumatic disorder, Dissociative disorder, and Somatoform Disorder. Anxiety disorders are the most common of disorders, except substance abuse. It affects 1 in 6 people, with over 32 million being affected. Panic disorder and agoraphobia are two separate disorders that often occur together. Several symptoms that are associated with panic disorder include racing heart, dry mouths, trembling, weaken legs, feeling out of control due to the onset of the anxiety attack which happens

Causal Factors: Childhood experiences are significant. Agoraphobia means avoiding situations that may leave people feeling out of control and vulnerable to having panic attacks. This also helps to free the client from using medication which is considered a clutch but doesn't cure the problem. Condensed Treatment Programs are shown to be effective in dealing with patients' attrition, set back and loss of motivation, provide daily opportunity to practice coping technique and to help agoraphobics to confront anxiety in a small and supportive atmosphere. This symptom is called fear of fear.
