To kill a mockingbird (racism)

Compare something in the novel to some thing in your own experience OR to another work of literature, art, or film.
My experience of racism and being made to feel afraid occurred on Saturday the 20 of December 2003, I was asked to deliver a blender to my aunt's house. On my way I noticed three white boys were following me. I was carrying the blender in a black bag and I was hugging it tight. The three white boys then proceeded to chase me. I believe they were after the bag I was carrying. I was on Vaughan Road and they chased me all the way to Oakwood and Eglinton, ten minutes away from my house. I was forced to get on the bus to get away. I was terrified and scared for my life. I feared that I would not see my family again.
I finally reached my aunt's house and felt safe to be inside.
This experience is comparable to the experience that thecharacters Scout and Jem had in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird after the Halloween pageant. They were afraid for their lives when Bob Ewell's tried to kill them, like them I was afraid and unsure what was going to happen to me. I felt the evil that exists in the world. However, them Boo Radley came to help me, the bus driver so how scare I was and let me on the bus. Both experiences highlight that there is evil in the world and that there are also good people willing to help.
