Disadvantages of Being Married
             When one gets married, there are many disadvantages one might experience on his or her life-long journey. These disadvantages range from loss of freedom, having financial expenses, not being able to put one's own personal need first, and not having the time for his or her friends. Many factors exist that might entice one not to get married.
             One major disadvantage of being married is the loss of one's freedom. A person who is married will not be able to eat, sleep, watch television, or do as he or she pleases without considering another person. Being married will not allow one the freedom to make random decisions because a final approval will be needed. Every decision will now be a compromise between two people.
             Being married has financial expenses as well. One might find that being single is much cheaper than being married. The cost of a wedding can be a problem for a person because there are many things that need to be done and it may be hard for a single person to do it alone. When a person is married, he or she might have to pay for two movie or meal tickets as opposed to one. One might also find that being married has financial costs because buying gifts for special occasions will be necessary. Having to buy for one's birthday and holiday can add up over a long period of time. Therefore, a married person has more expenses than one who is single.
             Not being able to put one's own personal need first can be another disadvantage of being married. A person may not be able to explore many adventures that he or she may desire. One's life may not be fulfilled because he or she will not have the time to visit places, meet new people, and experience new opportunities. A married person may not have the time to experience many things a single person can.
