Letter to Paul

             Paul, as you are an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, I bring you greetings from the city of Corinth. I am a member of the church of God, which is at Corinth, and I remember the days before the church. As a slave, I came to you on behalf of my mistress, Chloe, and I listen to you tell about God and his Son Jesus. Aquila and Priscilla, who were called to spread the message of Jesus Christ, were particularly useful in spreading this to me. Being inhabitants of Corinth, they understood the temptations of living in the city and they demonstrated how to live a Christian life despite all the evils that lurk about.
             Grace be to God, for He led me to you. Usually I visit Aegisthes, a skilled leather craftsmen, who I have been doing business with for years, but when I went to him, I discovered that he had become ill. I then visited the insula where you set up shop. I reassure you, my brother, that you spoke wise words, which intrigued me, and the message you spoke about was one that could not be ignored.
             I have spent my entire life in the city of Corinth, and although we have maintained a notorious reputation for promiscuous activities, many of us hunger for a way out. I come from a humble background and your teachings have offered me hope of a better place. I patiently await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. My eyes have been opened and I am beginning to understand the lessons you taught while you stayed here in Corinth.
             You were called to the people of Corinth to evangelize and the numbers of believers has grown tremendously. While you remained with us, our faith was unwavering, but now that you are absent from us there have been many problems arising. Although your message strong, some members of the congregations treat it as though it has no effect. Immorality has manifested itself in the hearts of the people and there is much division in the church.
